Consisting of 16 hours of lecture and laboratory demonstration, this new course combines key elements from AI publications and Asphalt Academy courses. The CBT provides a comprehensive overview of everything binder from production and modification to the newest applications and technologies.

Who Should Attend

Asphalt technologists, engineers, consultants, scientists and technicians responsible for asphalt testing, materials approval, broad-based specification, product formulation and quality control for pavements. A broadbased knowledge of asphalt binders will also benefit local and state materials and federal agency personnel, contractors and university educators. A background in asphalt binders is helpful but not necessary to understand the course material.

Wednesday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (lunch provided)
Thursday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fees & Registration

The registration fee is $700 for the Comprehensive Binder Technology Course. Registration fees must be received prior to the course date. The registration fees cover all seminar materials, refreshments, and lunches.

Early registration is recommended as the class is limited to 30 students. Cancellations are subject to a 20% surcharge of total course fees and require three weeks notice to avoid forfeiture of the balance paid. Substitutions are permitted.

Hotel Information

The Asphalt Institute has a room block at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington. If you wish to make hotel reservations, please call the hotel directly at (859) 231-5100. Rates are $92 for single and $102 for double occupancy and include a continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Transportation
Shuttle service between the airport, hotel and AI is no longer available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As an alternative, rental cars are available at the Lexington Bluegrass Airport or a taxi service can be reached at (859)233-2227.
